Kane Williamson to captain T20 World Cup 2024 squad for New Zealand with Devon Conway declared fit

New Zealand has announced its provisional 15-man squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup, with Kane Williamson named as the captain. Devon Conway, who was recently ruled out of the IPL due to a thumb injury, is making a return to international cricket for the tournament. Ben Sears has been designated as the 16th travelling reserve for the team.

The squad includes veterans Tim Southee and Trent Boult, with Rachin Ravindra and Matt Henry being the only members who have not previously participated in a T20 World Cup. Fast bowler Adam Milne is unavailable due to an ankle surgery, while Kyle Jamieson is continuing his recovery from a stress fracture in his lower back.
