Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro Addresses Rising Hate in the Community and Emphasizes Commitment to Clean Energy

Pennsylvania governor discusses increase in anti-Semitism and state’s energy economy

In an interview with Face the Nation moderator Margaret Brennan on Sunday, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro discussed the rise of anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, as well as other forms of hate. He reassured the public that there are currently no known threats and that the Pennsylvania State Police are working closely with federal and local partners to address any potential threats and keep communities informed. Governor Shapiro emphasized that there should be no place for hate in Pennsylvania, a state founded on the principles of tolerance, peace, and welcome for people of all faiths and backgrounds.

During the interview, Brennan and Shapiro also talked about the state’s energy economy. Governor Shapiro highlighted that Pennsylvania has a long history of powering the nation’s energy needs and now has the opportunity to lead in the clean energy economy. He credited President Biden for supporting these efforts and mentioned that Pennsylvania is the only one in the nation with two regional hydrogen hubs.
