Lakers Defeat Celtics in NBA Playoffs: A Battle of the East and West in Tight Contests

Clippers fend off impressive Mavericks comeback to even the series

The Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Mavericks waged an intense Western Conference play-off game, with the Clippers ultimately emerging victorious with a score of 116-111. Despite being down by 31 points in the first half, the Mavericks staged an incredible comeback inspired by Kyrie Irving’s 40 points. However, James Harden and Paul George’s 33 points each helped the Clippers regain control in the final minutes and secure the win, leveling the series at 2-2.

If the Mavericks had won, they would have matched the Clippers’ play-off record for the biggest comeback win set against the Golden State Warriors in 2019. Mavericks star Luka Doncic put on an impressive performance with a triple double, scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. Despite his efforts, the Mavericks fell short. The next game in the series will take place in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

In contrast to this intense Western Conference play-off game between two powerhouse teams, it was a more straightforward victory for one team over another in the Eastern Conference as well. The New York Knicks defeated Philadelphia 76ers with a score of 97-92 to take a commanding lead of 3-1 in their series. Jalen Brunson led from front and back for Knicks with a standout performance that included scoring 47 points and dishing out ten assists for his teammates to follow suit
